When you schedule your smoke detector appointment, be sure to ask for a free, in-home fire safety inspection. A District #1 representative will assess your home for fire risks and make recommendations to help protect your home and family.
How old are your smoke detectors? How old are their batteries?
In addition to replacing smoke detectors every 10 years, Holmes Fire District #1 encourages residents to test their smoke detectors monthly (by simply pressing the “test” button on the devices) and replace backup batteries at least once a year.
