Holmes Fire District #1 was dispatched at 5:39pm to a detached garage fire located at 5076 CR 314. Units arrived on scene at 5:45pm and found a working fire inside a 30 x 50 garage. A quick knockdown of the fire just inside the door was made, but it was discovered that fire had made its way into the attic space. Crews worked for over two hours to remove metal ceiling panels and insulation to confirm all fire was extinguished. The last unit cleared the scene 8:39pm. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature.

Holmes Fire District #1 was dispatched at 1:47am to a possible chimney fire located at 7000 CR 68. While Engine 701 was responding dispatch advised the caller was now reporting smoke inside the residence. A request for a full first alarm response was made. Engine 701 arrived on scene at 1:59am and found smoke coming from the eaves of the residence and soon after had fire through the roof. The fire was called contained at 2:22am. Crews worked for almost 2 hours to open access into the attic to extinguish hot spots. The last unit cleared at 4:31am. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature.
